World Blender Meetup Day 2016

World Blender Meetup Day is a big, coordinated online video chat of Blender user groups. It took place this year on February 27th. For 24 hours, anyone could jump in and watch live-streaming presentations by Blender users all over the world. Pretty cool, huh? 🙂

This year I wasn’t able to be at the Los Angeles Meetup to do my presentation live, but I still really wanted to be a part of it, so I prerecorded something for them to play. I’m happy to be able to post the video here for anyone who may have not been able to see it.

It’s about 38 minutes long, and I go over most of the new compositor improvements made by Sergey Sharybin since the Blender Conference this past October. I also demo a node group I’ve created for easily pinning still frames to tracked footage. Soon I’ll do a complete tutorial for the node group and make it available to download (although it’s very simple to make one yourself if you wanted to).

    1. Thanks, David! Yeah, I think a lot of non-professionals don’t know about those types of small, simple things. Sometimes I think they might be too basic for what I want to do here on the blog, but then I realize it’s probably exactly what people are looking for.
